Damn Allergies

My poor sweet Milo just has terrible allergies and it makes me so sad!  : (  Isn't he so pitiful?! He coughs and gets wheezy so easily.  It's the worst!  Luckily we have what we need to help him and we know what to do at this point...but I just hate having to do it.  Poor kid is miserable!  He and Chase wanted to stay all night at Grandma's - but I just had to make him come home with me because he was wheezing so bad.  He was sad.  I felt terrible!  Chase stayed so to try and make it seem "fun" to be the only big boy at home - I said we could camp out in the living room.  He likes to do that.  : )  (and it really was fun having some one on one with Milo by the way...even if I wish it were for different reasons)
All cozied in!
Milo and I had just fallen asleep and then I heard someone knocking on our door.  I was sleeping so hard that I was thoroughly confused when I answered the door.  I really should have looked through the bathroom window first to see who it was ..but I was out of it and luckily it was just Chasey and Grandma.  Chase started crying and wanted to come home.  Guess he missed having his little bro there with him! So, since we were in the living room I just got him all fixed up on the chair...and he went right to sleep.
After many nights of not sleeping well - he finally got a good nights sleep!  So glad!  I think I am going to just TRY and remember to give him allergy meds every day this summer.  I don't like medicating him constantly but I don't like seeing him miserable either.  Hopefully it'll help!

New Pool

I decided I wanted to get a little pool of some kind to have at home for the summer.  With us having a baby this summer - we are going to have to stay home some and I wanted home to be FUN too.  So, Josh and I picked them up a blow up pool while we were on date night.  We came home and put some air in it and started filling it before we went and picked them up...so they could be excited to see it.  ..and that they were!  It was almost dark and a little chilly outside - but these 2 little guys insisted on getting in it anyway.  Haha!  Crazy kids!  Their giggles and smiles alone made it 100% worth the $25. They were truly thankful...and I love that!
It fits perfect on our deck. Lots of summer fun ahead!

Aspens Birthday Party

We were invited to a birthday party for Aspen (a little girl in Milo's class) the first Sunday after school let out.  Josh was out of town and so were Mom and Dad so I was super thankful to have something to do.  (I like to avoid feeling lonely).  Luckily they were okay with me bringing Chase too.
They had a bouncy house for the kiddos.
Milo's bestie Elle was there too.  : )

The boys had so much fun!
And Sy Sy was great too! Cute little birthday party.  The weather was beautiful!
It was fun getting to chit chat with Kelly and Chelae for a couple hours.  A little Momma time snuck in to some kid time.  We left saying we should do some play dates this summer.  It always SOUNDS like fun and doable...but I'm really terrible at following through with those types of things.
I sent this picture to Kelly after we left and said that I hope they get married one day because their children would be so cute!  She said Elle said "we are getting married, I already know that".  Aww!  She is such a sweet little girl!

We ended our day with a little bike ride to Mom and Dads house so we could let Blaze out for them.  Fun day with my little guys!

Music Fest

We were just playing it by ear this year for the Music Fest up town as to whether or not we'd go because Josh had used his weekend days earlier in the month - so he would just have to be home to go.  Unless I went without him...which maybe I would have - I don't know.  I don't have to know because he WAS home and we got to all go as a family.  Yay!  Last year one of the things I said to Josh that would be good to have there was a bouncy house...and what do ya know! They had one there this year!
My 3 cuties.  Aren't they handsome?!  I think so!
Milo asked for a Batman face...
..and Chase asked for a puppy face (which I thought was seriously adorable!).
Had to go and show Grandma and Grandpa!
They also had a dunk tank this year...which we thought was cool.  We were saying how you used to see those at every fair and what not when we were younger - but you really don't see them very often anymore!  Chase dunked the guy on the 2nd throw.  Awesome!
They had the food and the music for later in the night indoors because the weather was questionable.  I think that hurt things because no one wanted to sit inside (since it ended up being beautiful outside!).  But, we ate our supper there.  Sy Sy sharing his snackers with Momma.  : )
Such a doll baby!

Haha he loves it!
So glad my hubby was home!  We didn't see many people this year like we did last year - so I would have felt pretty dang awkward had I went without him.  Love it when things actually work out for him to be around!
We left just before Cole was getting ready to play (because the boys were not wanting to sit inside with nothing for them to do....another reason why outdoors was way better!)- so I fed Sylas and then snuck back up for just a few minutes to see him do a couple songs.  For some reason I kept thinking he looked like Tyson.  I had never really seen the resemblance before but it was totally there then!

The Light Is Gone

Well, our prayer we were living on didn't get answered like we wanted.  This was a very dark day for me.  Josh was out of town.  It was killing me every day that went by just waiting for that e-mail about the new job.  Well....we got the e-mail....but, it didn't say what we had hoped it would.  I immediately felt crushed.  I had been feeling so good.  Having a glimpse of hope at a "normal" routine lifestyle felt so good.  Then it was just all gone.  Like that...all the exciting feeling I had been feeling and the day dreams of our new future we had been having were just shot down.  The light at the end of my tunnel was just GONE! It was seriously heartbreaking and so hard to accept.  I cried all day off and on...and it right away put me in a deep rut that I am still fighting to get out of.  I GUESS it wasn't meant to be....(I say that but I don't really mean it).  So, we just keep on keeping on in this railroad life and pray that our future will bring what it is meant to bring...

Summertime Routine

I always go in to summer with high goals.  Goals of lots of fun, still keeping their minds fresh with education, and keeping behavior in check.  I always have good PLANS of a "routine" but never can seem to stick with them 100%.  Well, we are off to a good start though!  Doing some morning worksheets (without arguing with me about it).  Yay!

A little bit later I heard the garbage man pull away outside and then our cans moving....I look out to see Chase dragging them up to put them away (without being asked).  Alrighty then!  I'll take it!
This was how Chase dressed himself for the very first day of summer.  Haha!  So much for being casual and comfy!  And of course Mr. Milo had to be a copy cat and dress just like him.  : )  Cuties!

Couple days later I decided I didn't want to print worksheets all summer - so I bought some age appropriate work books.  Still sticking to it!  Feeling good!

TBall

The very same day that school got out was the very day that tball started for the summer.  Right in to it!  This was Milo's first year playing so we wanted to make him feel special.  Milo has that middle child syndrome where he doesn't always get new things just for him and we always feel guilty.  While he doesn't ever complain (because he's awesome like that)...we still wanted to take him to get him his very own bat for tball.  He already had a glove so we went to Walmart to find him a bat.  Well we got to the aisle and he ran up ahead of us and started looking before we even got down to them.  Right away he grabbed this bright orange bat and had the cutest excited smile on his face.  Well...of course he would pick up a $30 bat instead of a $10-15 one!  Ugh!  Josh told me he couldn't say no to that face though.  Haha.  He was too sweet and we were feeling like spoiling him so we let him get it.  Luckily it's a little bigger bat so hopefully he'll be able to use it for a few years.
They were SO excited for practice.  They were dressed and ready a good hour before it was time to go.  We found some baseball pants in the basement and they got all decked out.
Sooo cute!
Josh was due to get called at any time so we were nervous he was going to miss practice.  I wanted Milo to have some special one on one with Daddy learning just like Chase got when he started tball...so Josh took him out back and practiced with him for a little while.

Taking time to make sure our Milo feels special and gets that one on one focus he deserves!
Daddy and his big boys!
Mommy's too!

We got SO lucky and Josh got his call just as we were leaving to go to practice.  He has 2 hours til he's on duty once he gets his call - so with practice lasting an hour...and an hour drive to Quincy...that was going to work out perfect!  So, he got to help with practice and then take off to work.  Yay!  I was so glad!  Their coach this year was Mrs. Haas.  She's of course super good with the kids - so I was pleased with that.  They had called and asked us if we wanted to move Chase up to coaches pitch this year - but we didn't want to do that.  We wanted one more year of it just being FUN for him (no yucky competition)...AND one summer of both the boys being on the same team.  Taking them to the same place at the same time for practice and games for just one summer was going to be nice!  Next summer will be crazy if they both want to play...which I'm sure they probably will.  Let the fun begin!

Last Day of School

They have had the school picnic at the State Park for years...but this year the committee decided to try a new location and have it at the park district.  I was bummed at first because I love the little walk through the "woods" that they would take from SPPS to the state park...and I felt sad that the kiddos wouldn't get to do that anymore.  The big kids still walked from the school to the park district - but the little kiddos got bused there.  So, I just met them there.  (which with having Sylas was really easier for me anyway!)  Josh was home but needed to sleep since he was due back out later on in the day - so I went by myself this time.  It was his first time not being at the picnic but it's all good!
I was SO high on life and ready freddy for summer!  My big boy kept finding me to give me hugs.  : )  He's always got to make sure he knows where I am.
Line up for lunch time!

Picnic with friends!  I participated in the adult pot luck for the first time this year..and it was delicious!  I just got my plate and then went and sat by my kiddos.
Super baby was so good!  I hardly even knew he was there!
The new location turned out to be AWESOME!  It was so great because there was something for every age kiddo to do.  They didn't have to plan games or anything because there was so much to do.  I mean...they brought frisbees and balls and stuff but other than that the kids just played around.  There was the playground, the basketball hoops, sidewalks to draw on, the baseball field, the shelter area.  Everyone could spread out and do their own thing.  I will be shocked if they don't have it here again...because I didn't hear one person have a bad thing to say about it...everyone was praising the new spot!
Kiddos got popsicles and SURPRISE SURPRISE my baby boy chose ORANGE!  ; )
A little more play time with friends and then....
Eeek!  It's here!  It's SUMMER TIME!!!  We are SO excited!  I called and woke Josh up as we were leaving the picnic and then he hopped in the van with us so we could run to town.  I seriously am SO ready for summer and ready to spend every day with these chickens!  A break from the early out the door by 8am routine for a while is much needed too. Helloooo summer - it's nice to see you!

5/25/17
The last day of school and our kick off to summer was great!  Josh wasn't home long enough - but I'm trying not to dwell on that and just enjoy life anyway!  (this doesn't come easy for me!)  So, I went to the picnic while Josh slept (he worked all night and was due out again before bed).  It was GORGEOUS out and the boys had so much fun! New sight this year and it was a hit.  Something for everyone to do and everyone loved it.  Sylas was awesome baby in the stroller the whole time too. Yay!  I did fail though because everyone got too much sun (me included) and I didn't sunscreen.  Oops!  After that we woke up Daddy and went to Walmart to buy Milo a bat for tball and them both life jackets for the summer....AND new socks.  Haha.  Because they keep blowing holes in their socks!  Came home for just a short bit before it was time to go to tball practice.  The boys are on the same team this year...which is going to make things so easy!  We weren't sure if Josh was going to make it or not so he took some time with them in the back yard before practice to show Milo a few things.  This is Milo's first year playing so I wanted him to have the same Daddy attention and special times as Chase got his first year.  Luckily it worked out just perfect that Josh got to be at all but 10 minutes of practice before he had to leave.  Yay!  Made me happy.  I didn't like having to come home without him (he wasn't home long enough) but I was glad he was at least able to do that with the boys.  Anyway...the boys and I had quick freezer junk and then got in jammies.  It felt good to come home and get comfy after that busy day.  Only thing missing was Daddy!  Chase and Dom played in their room while I got in some good Sy Jai snugs and then after I put him to bed they came out and I got some snugs from them too.  Life is awesome and even though we are broke and we aren't happy with Josh's job right now - I can honestly say that I am excited for summer with my babies and I WILL make the best of it!  This is MY time to make memories with them and have FUN. ...and I shall do just that!  XOXO
