2 Months

Little man turned 2 months - can you believe it?!  Man...time flies!  He had his 2 month well visit.  Josh was home and went over with me..but Chase fell asleep on the way over so he stayed in the car with him while I took Milo in.  So, I had to watch Milo get his first shots all by myself.  I cried when Chase got his first ones, but I guess I am a little more used to it now because I didn't cry this time.  Still felt bad though, poor little guy!  He is growing like a champ weighing in at 14 pounds 3 ounces and measuring 23 1/2 inches long!  He is in the 95th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height.  He is doing good for sure.  I still can't get over how completely opposite my boys have been so far!
Milo slept a lot in the afternoon.  Every time he would wake up he was SOOO cranky.  I knew he just didn't feel good.  We gave him some tylenol and snuggled the day away.  Come late in the evening he was good as new.  Chase went to sleep early that night so we got to sit and adore our smiley baby.  He laid on Josh's chest and looked at up him and smiled and talked for quite a while.  So sweet!  I think baby's just have a way of saying they're okay and thanks for loving on me when I didn't feel good.  : )  They are such special little gifts.

Vanessa's Birthday

Jeremy and Colista weren't able to make it to Vanessa's birthday party.  Since Mom had so much meat thawed out and Carla was still struggling with her kidney stones - we decided to call and ask her and Ralph to come join us.  Mom did it up good that night with chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes n gravy.  Yum yum!  I also made a cherry delight for dessert.  It was a nice prep on our stomachs for Thanksgiving.  Haha.  Happy birthday Vanessa!

Grandpa

Just for fun I put both of the boys in "I Love Grandpa" shirts and went and got a picture with him.  He's a proud Papa!  I love that he loves and snuggles my boys too : )

Grandma Snuggles

I didn't quite get the picture fast enough...but Josh and I went and did a little shopping or something one evening and left the boys at Mom and Dad's.  When we got there Mom had Milo asleep on her chest with Chase next to her in the chair and they were watching a movie.  She said they had been like that for at least an hour.  I love to see her snuggle and enjoy my babies!  I know I love that feeling so I'm sure she did too.
More snuggles for Milo  : )  Gotta love having a baby around to cuddle up with.

Oh Chase..

He has officially mastered eating popsicles with sticks.  He does it his own way - but it works!  ..and somehow he manages to stay fairly clean.  He, of course, has to sit ON TOP of the table though.  Can't keep that kid down!
It was a fairly warm day and we just put a light jacket on Chase - but before we left the house he ran and got his mittens.  He thought he needed them - haha!  He wouldn't let us take them off the entire time we were gone either.  : )

2 more cute Chase stories:

1.  We have always "honked" noses with Chase.  If you squeeze our nose it says honk.  Well we had the TV on and he was in the living room playing with his toys minding his own business.  A car honks on the TV and he instantly pops his head up and squeezes his nose and says "hooonk".  It was hilarious..and adorable!!

2.  This one is really sweet.  Chase was sitting in our recliner and Josh kneeled down on the floor in front of him and kinda laid his head on Chases belly.  Chase leaned up and kissed the top of Josh's head.  No one told him to or anything - he's just a big sweetheart like that.  : )  I love that he's affectionate and I hope it doesn't change.

Mr. Goo Goo

Precious, I know!
The little hat that Chase wore all his first winter is too small for Milo - so we are wearing this guy.  It is a hand me down from Jeremy and Colista - I think she said it was Liam's.  It is cute on my little guy, that's all I know!
Mr. Man is starting to like to sit up and see what's going on.  He is figuring out that if he cries he will get attention too.  Smart baby!
I thought it was cute how he was holding on to the blanket.  He actually does this in his sleep a lot. He holds on to my finger a lot while he's nursing like Chase used to too.

Yep, he's MY baby.  I see it again and again - so cool!
Baby head can pick up his head so far now.  He is getting STRONG!  He picks it up and looks all around while he's on his tummy.
I've been practicing rolling with him lately.  I'll tuck one arm under for him and he does the rest.  It won't be long and he'll be doing it on his own completely.
I call him Mr. Goo Goo because his favorite thing to say is "goo".  I love it!  : )
He gets really excited now that he can see his toys in front of him.  He will smile and talk to them.

Daddy's getting more and more excited the more Milo is starting to do too.  He is really developing his own little personality and we're loving it!  I'm also loving that he is starting to sleep like a champ.  He's slept through the night twice now.  Wohoo!

Heady

Chase went from saying "gego's" when he wanted to play with the legos to saying "heady".  The bucket is heavy and he likes to carry it so he says "heady".  Also - Josh always puts them in a pile and scoops them in the bucket all at once.  It is pretty cute because Chase sits on top of the bucket and tries to do it just like Daddy does.  : )  It is amazing (and scary) the things he catches on to just from watching us.

Ruined

We put big t-shirts on over Owen and Chase's clothes one evening and let them paint.  It was all fun and games until Chase ruined Owen's picture.  Chase of course didn't know that he was ruining it but more thought that he was helping him.  Owen saw it differently and was a little upset.  : (  I realized then that Owen will have some adjusting to do when his new little brother or sister gets here and runs around the house ruining all of his stuff.  On the flip side though - he will be an awesome big brother because he is a great helper.  For example - him and Chase took a bath together after painting and Owen got out the towels for both of them without even being told to...he just knows.

Now

...and now that I've spent the entire nap time blogging everything that I've been putting off blogging for the past 2 weeks - I better get up and actually accomplish something visible.  While I feel accomplished about getting that done - my house doesn't look accomplished at all.  Never can win darn it!

Family Visit

Josh's Grandma Annie has been wanting to see Milo.  We have been trying for a while to coordinate a time when Ryan and Alisha could get together with us and them at the same time.  It finally worked out this week.  It is pretty hard with Josh's "schedule" to plan anything.

We went over to Josh's Aunt Debbie's (Ryan's Mom) house for supper and to visit a while.  Her and Grandma both snuggled Milo and seemed to think he was a cutie.
Emily was so cute.  She is a mothering type of little girl.  She is 3 and is so smart!
Debbie had ribs, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, rolls, and peach pie.  It was delicious!  Chase ate the rib like it was a chicken leg.  He loved it too.
Her house is set up so cute and perfect for the kids.  There was a back play room that Chase went back into with Zane and played really good.  I still can't get over how well Chase plays with Ryan's kids.  I love it.

We had Milo dressed in the outfit that we had bought for Chase to wear home from the hospital.  Chase actually didn't wear it until he was 3 months old.  Milo wore it at just shy of 2 months and filled it out perfectly.
I hope we do that again sometime because it was a nice little evening.  We don't get to see Josh's family much anymore.  When his parents split up - the family gatherings kind of stopped.  I felt very comfortable over there though and they seemed really happy we came over.  I think they miss it even more so than we do.

Scared

Someone got ahold of my make up without us knowing it.  We were busy giving Milo a bath and getting him dressed and just thought Chase was playing with some toys in his room.  When Josh checked on him he found him like this.  His face and hands were covered in mascara.  I showed him himself in the mirror and he was scared of himself.  He got the same look on his face that he did on Halloween when he saw scary masks.  I started to clean him up and then remembered that I should probably take his picture because it'll be a funny story to remember.  Luckily he only had it on his skin and managed to not get a drop on his clothes or anything else.  Oh Chase - we love ya kiddo!

Sleepover

Mom had to take Tristan Kelley to the dentist last week and was going to Stage 2 while she was in town.  Josh was gone and she asked if we wanted to take along - so we did.  I picked up Milo to put him in his seat when we were getting ready to leave...and I went to give him a kiss and got puked on - IN MY MOUTH!  That was a first for me.  Gross!  He is lucky I love him...haha!

This picture shows his birdy mouth by the way.  I often call him birdy.  He is my birdy birdy.  : )
We all went and ate Chinese.  Tristan tried a bunch of new things and seemed to really like it.  Chase was really attached to him while we were out and about.
We went to Mom and Dad's when we got back to town.  I ran home and got us all jammies so we could get comfy and hang out.

It was quiet and cozy all evening and felt like home.  I really didn't feel like going home and being alone so I just decided to stay the night.  We got the computer room all set up for the night.
Josh showed up at 6 in the morning.  He couldn't wait to see us.  He laid down next to Chase and napped until he woke up.
Mr. Milo and I woke up before they did.  He was bright eyed and happy.  He smiled and talked more than ever.  : )  I love that little butterball of mine!

We all decided to get dressed and run to Kohls.  We had Kohls cash and coupons that expired that day so Mom went with us.  We weren't gone long but each got a few more things for Christmas.

It felt so good to cozy in and stay at home for the night.  I guess I just needed it.  That day, night and next day were just perfect to me.  I loved it and the feeling it all gave me.

Geen Geen

We are starting to talk colors and shapes and what not.  If you ask Chase what color something is - EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. his answer is "geen geen".  Haha!  It's cute and hilarious!  I know he'll get the hang of it sooner or later and learn that everything isn't green.  I love though that he doesn't say 'green'..he says 'geen'...and that he doesn't only say it once, but does it classic Chase style and says it twice like he does when he says 'Owie Owie'.  Love that boy!

Girls Shopping Day

The tradition continues!  We got up bright and early and left at 5 am last Sunday to go to Iowa City to SHOP SHOP SHOP and EAT EAT EAT!  It was still dark when we left...and Dad made us all smile right away because that little light he had at the birthday party the night before was stuck in the windshield wiper.  Haha...I just laughed and said I love my Daddy!  We drove thru McDonalds in Fort Madison and got a beverage for the ride.  First thing when we got to Iowa City we went to Village Inn for breakfast.  Yum Yum!  After that we were off - Kohls, Gordmans, Michaels, Bed Bath and Beyond, and the mall.  It was pouring rain and got colder and colder as the day went on..but we didn't let it get us down.  I had to take breaks in between it all to pump my boobs - which gave me no choice but to sit and miss my boys for a few minutes - but they were in good hands at home with Daddy.
As usual, our last stop was at Target.  The van was LOADED!  We all felt like we didn't do as well as usual but the van was more full than ever before so we must not have done too bad.
We ended the night at Olive Garden for supper.  We always eat at the same 2 places and it is always yummy.  When we went back to the van afterwards it had gotten so cold that we were all shivering.  Mom pointed at the thing that says how cold it is in the van after we started it and her hand was shaking it was so cold.  We got a good laugh out of that!  I'm sure you probably had to be there because that doesn't sound that funny now...but I swear it was!  We always share a lot of heartfelt conversation and a lot of laughs.  I love everything about this day!  I always look forward to it.  Bring on Christmas 2012!

Liam's Birthday

The family got together on Saturday for Liam's 8th birthday.  I put Milo in the little Hurley outfit that Jeremy and Colista got him.  He looked so grown up in real clothes!  ..and super cute too!
We had Pizza Hut and cupcakes and ice cream.  I made the pinterest tissue box instead of doing the birthday balloons this time.  You tape together dollar bills and stick it out of the tissue box and a note says "don't blow it all in one place".  Haha - I thought it was cheesy and cute.

Grandma got him a card that said something about poop on it.  He thought it was pretty funny stuff!  He laughed a nice belly laugh when he read it.  Haha!  So nice to see Liam's real smile!
Jeremy and Colista got him this hat and coat that he picked out.  I think he looks pretty awesome!

There were some lighted balloons at the party that Dad took one of the lights out of.  He stuck it in his ear and his nose and in between his fingers when would wave.  He was being a big cheesy dork but it was funny.  That's my Dad for ya!  Chase wasn't sure what to think of it...haha!
