Thursday

Mom picked up Grandma and Granddad and brought them to town in the morning for Grandma to get a perm.

Mom, Grandma, Granddad, Aunt Carla and Owen all came over for lunch.  I made meatloaf, mashed potatoes & gravy, and asparagus casserole.  It was super yummy.  I love meatloaf but Josh hates it so I have to have it when he isn't around.  Grandma and Granddad seemed to really enjoy visiting with all of us.

After lunch we dropped Grandma and Granddad off and we went grocery shopping.  Owen was making silly faces while he was eating some taffy and had me take pictures of him.  He even told me to take one on my phone and send it to his Mommy.  Haha - silly boy!

On the way home we stopped to take a picture of the iceberg on the river.  It was really neat because there was an eagle sitting on it.

Drool, Drool and More Drool

We think maybe Chase is starting to teeth already!  He has been chewing on EVERYTHING and drooling in massive amounts.  I wish he would wait a while but I guess what will be will be.

Lincoln

Once or twice a year Josh has to go to Lincoln, NE for work.  He left Tuesday, stayed the night, went to meetings all day, and then drove back Wednesday night.  It was technically Thursday by the time he got home though - 12:30 a.m.!  Then he was back up at 6:00 for work.  He really is a hard worker and he does work hard for us and doesn't complain about it at all.  I love him for that!

I hate being alone at night so I was sure to keep myself busy.  Tuesday evening Colista had an Arbonne party.  It was super fun!  (the stuff is amazing)  Chase threw a little fit in the middle of it but other than that it was a great time.  This was my first overnight without Daddy to help.  I let Chase sleep in bed with me - to keep me company and to make the middle of the night feedings a little easier without Josh there.  We got along just fine, but I wouldn't want it that way every day.  On Wednesday evening we went over to Emilee Reneau's to give her some clothes to borrow during her pregnancy.  She is starting to get a little bump and it's adorable!  I had Mom cook me supper so we went over to their house after we left Emilee's and had supper and hung out until bedtime.  So - we kept busy and we made it!

Jumperoo

We decided to take back Chase's other jumper and get him this one.  He played in the one at Mom and Dad's like this and seemed to like it a lot more than him.  It was quite the ordeal trying to get it though.

First of all, I hate Walmart!  Online it says that both Keokuk and Burlington have this jumperoo in their stores.  Friday night Josh and I went out to eat and then ran over to Keokuk to get it.  NOPE!  They don't even carry it.  Ugh.  We decided before we drove to Burlington we would call and make sure they had it.  We did - and they told us they had 3 in stock.  So we run up there and they don't even carry it either!  How someone messed that up so badly when we called is beyond us.  Turned out that we just ordered it online on Sunday and received it by Tuesday.  Should have just done that to begin with I suppose.

He really likes his new jumperoo though, so I guess it was all worth it!

Bath Time

Chase has really started to LOVE his bath.  He has started kicking and splashing the entire time.  We also discovered that is little butt is ticklish.  Haha!  Who knew bath time could be so much fun!

Spring Fever

It was SO nice out last week that I'm pretty sure almost everyone got a case of spring fever.  Chase and I got out everyday and took a walk.  It was great for both of us to get a little fresh air.  The walks put him to sleep in just a few minutes.  He seems to like them though.

5 Nights

Chase slept through the night for five nights in a row.  It was amazing!  I was starting to think maybe we were past the sleepless nights, but the past two nights have crushed that thought.  He is getting there though!

Valentine's Day

On Sunday we went out for breakfast after mass.  We counted this as our Valentine's meal.  We stopped at ShopKo and Josh and I got the book "I Love You So" for Chase for Valentine's Day.  If you haven't read it before, it is a really cute book!  Chase and I took a walk on Monday while Josh was at work and went to the Fudge Factory and got him some fudge and caramels.  Josh got me some ice cream from Dottie's.  It wasn't the same as it used to be - kind of disappointing.  We didn't do much - just stayed home and ate supper and our treats - but it was a nice day!

Saturday Night

Without seeing what I had dressed Chase in for the day, Josh just happened to put his sneakers on too when he got dressed.  I thought it was the perfect Daddy/Son photo opportunity.  : )

 Isn't he handsome?!  He's such a stud!
Mom had everyone over for dinner.  The whole family was there - it had been a while!
Since the babies can't eat candy, their Valentine from Grandma was an outfit.

We had ice cream cake for dessert - YUM!

We couldn't get the babies to look at each other, but Eden sure liked Chase's shoes!
After dinner Jeremy & Colista, Ty & Ness, and Josh & I snuck away and went bowling.  We hadn't been bowling in years so it was kind of fun for a change.
This is Josh's "technique".  I was picking on him about it for sure.
Colista couldn't really get in the groove.  She tried many different approaches but none seemed to work for her that night.  It gave us a lot of good laughs though!
I was the only one totally oblivious to the goofiness going on.  Good times!

New Discovery

Chase has found his feet!  He is constantly grabbing at them and looking at them.  I think the feet of all of his sleepers are going to be stretched out because he will get ahold of them and pull.  He also is pulling up his feet and rolling on to his side.  I don't think it will be long before he is rolling from his back to his stomach!

Chase's 4 Month Check-Up

Chase had his 4 month check-up on Friday.  He is growing very well!  He weighed 13 pounds 10 ounces and was 25 3/4 inches long.  He is in the 25th percentile for his weight and 75th percentile for his height.  Tall skinny baby!  He had to get shots again.  : (  He calmed down quicker this time than last time but it was still sad.  Afterward he was pretty good - just a little more cuddly and sleepy than usual.

Back to Thursdays

Well, Mom's day off got switched back to Thursdays.  Last week on Thursday we spent the day out and about.  We started out by going to Carthage for Mom's chiropractor appointment.  After that we picked up Colista to tag along with us.  She brought Cullen and Eden too - we had a van full!  We stopped in Adrian for an hour or so to see Grandma and Granddad Boyer.  I think they really liked getting to see the babies.  They were both full of smiles and showing off for them.  Our next stop was at Carlos O' Kelly's in Burlington for lunch.  The food was great and the kids behaved well so it was quite enjoyable!  The mall was our next stop.  We found a few good deals on some baby clothes.  Cullen decided to take a "nap" in the middle of the mall - it was too funny!  We picked up Owen at daycare before taking Colista home.  After we dropped Colista off we made a stop at DQ and got Owen a sandwich and Mom and I some ice cream.  Fun day!

My Project

I have been wanting to start something to do as a "hobby".  So - I am making a cookbook!  I am going to take my time with it, probably will work on it over the next year or so.  I am taking pictures of the food I make because I prefer a cookbook with pictures in it.  I'm not sure if I will just give it as gifts or if I will try to sell it or what I'll do.  I do know that I am excited about it though!

Evening At Mom's

I tried a new recipe for minestrone soup and it made a HUGE pot so we took it over to Mom and Dad's to share for supper.  The soup was a big disappointment because it was a lot of work and didn't end up tasting too great.  Ugh!

Mom dug out a jumper that she had in her basement and cleaned it up for Chase and Eden to play in while they are at her house.  Chase LOVES it!  I'm thinking about taking the one we have at home back and getting one more similar to hers.  He really seems to enjoy it a lot more.  Grandma got to feed Chase for the first time.  He ate really well, as usual.

Cute Pictures

This would be Chase "helping" me do our taxes.
 Chase loving being naked!
Josh and I like this little sleeper because it shows his tiny little body.  He's just so cute.
He is seriously spoiled - we give him way too much attention I'm sure.
 Chase just chillaxin' with Daddy.
I love how he holds on to his blanky while he sleeps.

Josh's explosion

HAHAHAHA!!! Josh got pooped on!  It was humorous when Chase pooped on the wall - but this was WAY more funny!

Hiccups

I got hiccups one evening while I was holding Chase.  Evidently Chase thinks hiccups are HILARIOUS!  Every time I would hiccup he would giggle.  Made my day - absolutely adorable!

Superbowl

We went over to Josh's parents house for the superbowl.  It wasn't as miserable for me as usual since I had Chase to entertain me this year.  Ruth put Chase down for a nap and ended up napping with him.

Blizzard

Tuesday morning the snow started falling.  It got heavier and heavier as the day went on and the wind got worse and worse too.  Josh got to come home early and be home safe with Chase and I.  We just hibernated and had a cozy relaxing evening.  We would periodically look outside to see the impressive amounts of snow.  The next morning we woke up to quite the mess of snow!  We were very fortunate and Josh didn't have to go to work.  As soon as Chase went down for his morning nap Josh and I ran outside and stomped around in it for a few minutes.
This is our kitchen window.  All of our widows are packed with snow like this.
View from our back door onto the deck.

 This is our front porch.
 Right outside the garage door.

View of the front of the house.

Here I am "leaning" on a snow drift.
Josh was dying to jump in a drift of snow - so he did : )
Daddy came and plowed the driveway for us.

We went for a little drive around town to see the massive amounts of snow everywhere.  This was at the state park - snow up to the benches of the picnic tables.
We had a pretty lazy afternoon - Chase and I took a nap.  Josh took a picture of us.
Josh got Chase giggling - we love watching our baby have fun and be happy!
Josh put Chase in his bouncer to play and I thought it was funny that Josh just left his pant legs all hiked up like this.  Haha!
