8/18/16
Chase was just sitting next to me while I was holding Sylas and was softly rubbing his head. He looked right at me and said "I'm excited we have a new baby". : ) He's so sweet! And I'm SOOOO glad that he is excited. I love that he said WE have a new baby...because he IS his baby too. I love that he loves him!
That's What I Do
We were reading this book at bed time and Chase says "that's what I do!" Yes, Chase...you ARE sneaky when you come into our room in the middle of the night! Haha. What a stinker! ; ) At least he admits it!
Drop Off
School supply drop off night. Josh was at work so I was on my own. I wanted him to be there..this was one of those times that I had mentally prepared myself to think that he would be here for and I wouldnt have to worry about anything before finding out he wouldn't be off as long as we thought. So, I had to put on my supermom pants and handle it. I put Sylas in the stroller and put the boys to work carrying bags...and we made it! We went into Milo's classroom first to drop off his stuff and see Mrs. Counts. He wanted to stay and play...so this was a good sign! We went to Chase's room next and got to see where he will sit and meet Mrs. Yuskis. It took us a while to get down the hall from Milo's room to Chase's because we kept getting stopped by people wanting to see baby Sylas. While I love showing off the baby, I kind of felt bad at the same time because I felt like the baby was stealing the boys' thunder. They didn't seem to mind though. Once again, something that in reality probably bothers ME more than anything.
Mrs. Counts had Starburst for Milo and Mrs. Yuskis had tootsie rolls for Chase. It was like they knew what they like! Chase is my chocolate boy. It went fine and the boys were excited. I worried for no reason again. I should really stop doing that! Haha. I felt a weight partially lifted. I'm trying to get excited with them!

Miss You
It was the last week of summer and we were trying to make the best of it. I was emotional and yet again felt like my world was coming to an end of sorts. I was trying so hard to have every one of these last days be a perfect day. I wanted very little arguing...just happy times together. Walks were on the agenda daily! Sylas loves it outside luckily so that was something that we could do even on days Daddy wasn't home.
We had to run to Walmart so to make it fun for the boys I thought we'd go to Sonic and sit outside to eat. Sounded fun. It was all going well and then just in conversation I said to Chase "I bet the baby will miss you while you're at school all day". Oh my gosh...the look on his face broke my heart! : ( It was that classic look that Chase gets when he is fighting back his tears. He got a lump in the throat..and I caused it. Darn it! I've been telling him I will miss him lots and he just smiles usually...but it is amazing to me that the one who got him emotional about it is the baby. He already loves him so much (and it's the sweetest thing)! We are just getting adjusted to our new "normal" and now we have to make yet ANOTHER big adjustment come Monday when school starts. It's so heart wrenching...I wish I could back out!
This day was unsuccessful in being the perfect day. However - I do think that heartbreaking moment was more bothersome and lingering for me than anyone else...so it was probably more perfect than I think.

Asher's Birthday
Asher is the first (well, now the second..) of the August birthdays in the family. We gathered at Mom and Dads to celebrate his day.
Eden got to hold Sylas for the very first time. She was LOVING it!
Curious kiddos!
Harley wanted a turn too!
I helped him hold him and then just shortly later he asked his Daddy to help him so he could do it again. : ) Cute! He says Sylas' name so cute. He draws out the Y real slow.
The birthday boy! Happy birthday Asher!
More baby loves! I obviously took more pictures of Sylas getting loved on than I did of the birthday boy. Haha. Oops!

2 Weeks
Sylas and I went by ourselves to his 2 week check up. I may have stopped and gotten myself a yummy coffee on our way to the appointment. I had been wanting to try the new coconut milk mocha macchiato. The result was that it is pretty dang good!
This is my poop face. Haha. Don't you wish you looked that cute when you pooped?! ; ) He just happened to fill his diaper when I was snapping a picture to send to Daddy. This naked little mister was 9 pounds 4 ounces at this appointment. Already chunking up! Found out his belly button will go down on its own and it is nothing to worry about. His circumcision is almost all healed up and looking great. Our boy is just perfect!!
Yep, perfect for sure! Perfect and precious!
Sylas looked at me right in the eyes when he was awake and smiled both sides at me this afternoon! It made me cry instantly! This was the first time he had done that and it was just a special unexpected moment. He loves me! And oh, do I love him back!

Awesome Auntie
Josh has held every one of our newborns like this. And I love it! : )
: )
We had Ruth and Taylor over for supper. I was making chicken tacos and Taylor loves those so I like to invite her over when we have them. Once again she was awesome Auntie and played with those big boys. They love her for a reason!

8/15/16
I was fixing the boys lunch and out of no where got a lump in my throat when I realized I'll only have one plate to fix through the week starting next week. :( I can't do it...I can't give my baby away...
Boyer Reunion
Sylas kept making odd faces ...this was the best one we got. I felt decent about mys appearance and he looked super cute in his muscle shirt - so a picture together was only appropriate! ; )
Josh got home from his first trip back while we were sleeping and was still home to go to the reunion with us. I am SOOO glad that worked out! I wanted him to be able to show off baby too.
Big brothers thought baby needed some toys to take with us. : ) Once again - I went to take a picture of Sylas and Milo wanted in on it. Haha. Love that boy!
Ummm can you say ADORABLE?!?! He was pretty bright eyed while we were there. He likes it outside!
Owen just got himself a new 4 wheeler. Quite the crew there trying it out!
Our little family! Are we still considered a "little" family?? I'd say we're a medium sized family maybe?
Showing Granddad the newest addition. Granddad was the oldest present and Sylas was the youngest present at the reunion. Granddad thought he looked like his big brothers.
Our food spread was majorly lacking this year. I don't have any room to talk because all I took was rice krispie treats...but, I just didn't feel like I could handle it this year. I was still getting adjusted to having 3 kids and getting us all cleaned up and out the door by a certain time was enough. Next year though hopefully I can make something more substantial.
Amy getting in her baby lovins.
Sidewalk chalk and races down the driveway entertained the kiddos. They were having fun...yay!
This is Wesley and Dana's youngest Miley and ooohh my goodness - this little one has a personality! She's great! And she was ALLL about that baby!!
Grandma and her 3 youngest babies.
You should have seen all the cameras going! Nice reunion this year. Having baby Sylas to show off made it that much more enjoyable for me.
We left a little earlier than we probably normally would because Josh was due to go back to work ALREADY. He was out of weekend days so he didn't have a choice but to to go. It was hard! Those back to back only home for 12 hour trips always are hard...but even more so when we are just getting back into the swing of things and adjusting to our new life. So anyway - we came home to spend some time just us before he had to leave. Here we go again...!

Daddy Goes Back To Work
So originally Josh was supposed to get to use FMLA for some time off after Sylas was born. We found out about a week before I delivered that he didn't have enough hours to qualify. We were shocked because we had previously gotten a letter telling us we were approved. It was all just a big, confusing mess! Lots of anxiety and tears and anger over the whole situation. Anger because he WOULD have had enough hours had they returned my 3 voicemails BEFORE the weekend. Lots more details to this story - but all confusing and unnecessary to explain. I had a very very hard time accepting this reality. I had mentally prepared myself the entire pregnancy for otherwise. So anyway - with layoffs and a vacation day we managed to have him home with us for 10 days. It was beautiful...but unfortunately it had to come to an end sooner than we wanted it to. I hate all the emotions it is causing! We are lucky to have him. I love him deeper than ever. He's been perfect and understanding. I felt heard.
We were able to have lunch together as a family before he left that Friday afternoon.
He had a nice little chat with the big boys to be good for Mommy. I was so nervous...
Aaand...I was bawling! Goodness! I loved the connection we all had and the closeness and was really having a hard letting our special bonding time come to an end.
I wasn't sure if we would or not - but there wasn't going to be anyone extra at Mom and Dads that evening - so the boys and I went over for supper. They played peacefully and good and brought home some lego creations they made. : ) My first time leaving the house with all 3 boys by myself = success!
Sylas wondering where Daddy went...
I noticed at bedtime that Josh got the boys beds ready before he left. It literally made me cry! Josh doesn't think ahead usually or bother to do little things like that so that was equal to a love letter for me! I was so scared for bed time! I wanted to be able to have my snuggle time with the big boys before bed and wasn't sure when Sylas would want/need me. It just all made me nervous.
Luckily though, we survived! And yes, I got my snuggle time with all 3 of them before bed!
These 2 LISTENED to their Daddy! They were AWESOME while Daddy was gone! Such well behaved understanding little boys. I love them to pieces! I made rice krispie treats to take to the Boyer reunion the next day and they were my big helpers. : )
This was the night of our class reunion. My parents class reunion was the same exact night - and Josh was out of town ...so, we didn't end up getting to go. Although we honestly would have liked to! The late night portion was even at the wine barrel this time so I would have been more comfortable there and everything. Timing was just poor. Oh well. Anyway - Vicky came back for the reunion and asked if she could come by to meet baby Sylas. I said yes before I even knew she was going to show up with Kris bars!! Had she informed me of such things it would have been a HELL yes!! ; ) Haha (just kidding Vicky, I love you!) Chase and Milo had to show her every single toy that they own and wouldn't stop talking her leg off. We enjoyed her visit....aaand the bars. It helped take my mind off of being sad that Josh was gone.

Precious Times
Allll on his own. Milo said he was a "box troll". Haha. I don't have a clue...but it was hilarious!
Normal moments sitting around watching some tv...baby in big brothers arms. : ) He sure does like that new baby!
Oh my gosh I died laughing at this!! So a car starts coming at us and the boys hope off their bikes and stick their thumbs out! Josh and I were both like what the heck, where in the world did they get that from?!?! Their answer? MINIONS! Haha, sure enough..the minions do hitch hike on that movie! Haha! Too funny!
While on the topic of hitch hikers. Josh has a "hitchhikers thumb". I always give him crap because he has "weird" thumbs. Haha. For some reason those kind of thumbs are icky to me. And guess what? Sylas has yet ANOTHER feature of Josh's...HIS THUMBS!! MAAAYYBE it just appears that way...but I am fairly certain he inherited the weirdo thumbs.
Sylas does not like to be swaddled...he most defnitely prefers his little arms up by his head. : ) Such a cutie! He likes to turn his head that same direction every time too. This is his comfy position. So fun getting to know him!
Eye contact with Daddy! Our baby loves to be talked to. : )
Getting the last little goody out of summer.
Looking like such BIG boys...more now than ever!
Bub asked if I could make brownies. Why yes, my chocolate loving little...I can! (and I'll even let you lick the bowl!)
I thought it was cute the way Sylas was sleeping so I went to take a picture of him and Milo squeezed himself into the shot. Haha. Made it that much more cute, right?? ; )
My 4 boys
Arms up!
His big brothers picked out his clothes. : ) Don't you love it?! I do! This onesie lasted about 15 minutes and then he got pee on it. Next up was his Batman onesie. That one didn't last long either. It was officially time for size 1 diapers! Even though we had a HUGE box of newborns left. Big boy is growing too fast!
I tried a gazillion different wraps/carriers before deciding on one. Initially I thought this was going to be the winner. I loved the way it felt but ended up deciding it wasn't convenient enough so I sent it back after our trial walk. I wanted something quick and easy to put on. The baby k'tan didn't work for me either. I ended up landing on an Eddie Bauer carrier that I LOVE.
Life is GOOD folks!
