Sweet Corn

We had sweet corn tonight with dinner.  (It was our first time this year and delicious!)  We gave Chase an ear to chew on and he LOVED it!  He was super cute though because he didn't pick it up - he just leaned down and chewed on it.  Silly boy!
After dinner the guys sat on the porch and watched me water the flowers.  Josh loves having a little side kick.

Our Special Bond

So Chase is still nursing at bedtime and through the night.  I'm not really sure if he is getting much off of me anymore or not.  I've been thinking that for a while.  I really think it feeds him emotionally now more than anything.  It is his special bond with me and mine with him.  At that time of night he is just ready to snuggle in with Mommy and relax.  I can't explain how special it is.  I am truly grateful to be able to feed him and provide him nourishment and comfort.  I don't know when or how I will give it up.  I often get afraid that I am drying up because it will be just as hard on me as it will be on him (if not harder) when the time comes to give it up.

Yummy Food

I made my own version of buffalo chicken pizza.  It was AMAZING!  You should totally be jealous : )
Sunday night we did nachos.  We just piled on the Mexican toppings and enjoyed.  Yum-O!

Fat Lip

Chase was crawling across the kitchen floor and his body got moving faster than his hands and he CRASHED!  He busted his mouth on the floor.  He was crying really hard - holding his breath and kicking his legs - so I knew it hurt.  It wasn't until Josh saw blood on my cheek where Chase leaned against me that we knew he busted it open.  It was swollen for a few hours and then you couldn't hardly tell.  First of many!

Bambi x 2

Chase had us up bright and EARLY Sunday morning.  I wasn't too thrilled to be up before 6 a.m...but looking out the window to see a mama deer and 2 tiny baby deer with their spots still was pretty cool.  My cameras zoom is crap, so I couldn't get a great shot - but they were cute.

Summer Sun

Josh worked Saturday morning, so Chase and I got outside and stayed busy so it would go by fast.  We pulled weeds in my flower beds and washed the trailblazer.  While I was washing the car Chase zonked out in the jumperoo.
After nap time we borrowed Grandma's little pool and went out on the deck for some more fun in the sun.  Before we knew it Daddy was home!  When Josh works on Saturday mornings they always seems to drag on..but this time it went by super quick and was a load of fun.  I love having my favorite little guy to keep me company!

Bedtime Lovin'

I was laying on the couch watching TV and Chase crawled over and stood up at the couch right in front of me.  He reached for me to pick him up - so I did.  He snuggled right in with me and we fell asleep.  True love!

Tinkle

I was in the bathroom doing my make up when I heard the piano keys tinkle.  I grabbed the camera and tried to catch him when his hands were still reaching up to touch the keys..but didn't make it in time.  Of course, he wouldn't do it again once I was in there...but you could tell he was pretty proud of his new accomplishment.  I will make sure this little man plays the piano - or at least some instrument.  I am very grateful for it - it is natural to me, like walking, and is a huge stress reliever for me.  I want my kids to have that same sense of relief when they sit down to the piano (or pick up a guitar..whatever it may be).

Fun With Daddy

Josh and Chase equally enjoy their play time together.  I was put on hold to fold my towels (darn!) when Josh decided to turn the laundry basket into a toy.  He was cruising him all around the house and Chase was LOVING it!

Overdue Haircut

Mom was going to Amy's to get her hair cut on Thursday afternoon - so I tagged along and got mine cut too.  It was long overdue again.  I keep going far too long in between cuts and have to cut much more off than I want to.  Chase was into everything, as usual.  He managed to get behind her shelf of products in the corner (still not quite sure how).  Needless to say, he was covered in hair by the time we left.

We Picnic Too!

Every day after swimming lessons Colista and I have been taking the kids to the park for a picnic.  It works out quite nicely.  The kids eat and play for a bit..that way they are good and tired for naps afterward.  It has been hot, but it has been fun!

Week Night Date Night

Josh and I don't go on dates all too often...and very RARELY do we do so through the week nights.  We were craving some Mexican on Wednesday night, so I took Chase to Grandma's and we went on a date.  We went to Los Charros in Carthage - it was fantastical as usual!
We came home through Hamilton for 2 reasons.  1 - so we could let our tummy's rest between Carthage and Hamilton before stopping at DQ for ice cream.  2 - so we could have a prettier drive home.  The sunset was BEAUTIFUL!  The picture really doesn't do it justice.
When we got to Mom and Dad's, Chase was passed out with Grandpa.  He snoozed for quite a while until he heard Josh's voice and he woke up immediately.  I dropped him off before Josh got home from work, so he still needed some Daddy time.  : )

Big Day

Last Tuesday was a BIG day for us.  Josh had orientation and interview for a conductor position on the railroad.  It was tough to tell his current boss and stressful in general.  It was a long day for him.  They did an overview of the job, testing, drug tests, and interviews all in the same day.  He is one of a big group and only 15 will be hired.  We are keeping our fingers crossed!  Chase was so happy to see his Daddy that evening (and I think the feeling was mutual).  It was like Chase knew that Josh needed that snuggle.  He just laid his head down on Daddy and cuddled the entire time Josh was telling me about his day.
Daddy rocked him to sleep too.  He was definitely a Daddy's boy that night!

Water + Sun = Sleep

The sun and swimming tends to tucker the boys out!  Almost every day they fall asleep on the way home and stay asleep for a good 2 hours!  (yahoo!)  The other day I took a shower, piled the pillows up on the bed, got my lap top and a snack and VEGGED!  It was greatness.
This precious little guy interrupted my vegging.  BUT...I just snuggled him in next to me and he ended up going back to sleep (and I might have dozed with him).

Swim Time With Mommy

Chase and I are doing "Mommy and Me" swimming lessons at the Hamilton pool.  They started last Monday and are for 2 weeks.  Colista is taking all 6 of her kids and I'm taking Owen as well.
Owen is staying with us during these 2 weeks.  These boys sure do have a lot of fun together!
Both of these babies do SO well in the water!  I'm so excited to be getting them used to it so early on in life.  The pool gradually gets deeper.  Chase will crawl towards the deeper end and eventually his little hands are still on the bottom, but his butt starts floating.  It's so cute!  We've tried going under water and floating on his back and tummy.  He really does awesome with all of it - I'm so proud of him!
Chase is pretty fond of all of his cousins!  I think Tristan liked that Chase was laughing at him.
Quite a few times Chase has crawled or leaned to Eden and given her kisses.  This picture captured one of them.  It is too darn CUTE!

Summer Supper

Mom and Dad had a family supper last Sunday evening.  It was hot and gross outside, so they set up the sprinkler and the slip n slide for the kids and filled a tiny pool for the babies.  The boys had a lot of fun!  Chase and Eden were so cute to watch in the water too!  Dad grilled a huge turkey breast and it was quite awesome.  Once again...great food and fun with the family!

Gator's

Last Saturday evening we went to Gator's with Ryan & Alisha and the kids.  Chase is becoming a booger and not wanting anything to do with his food if we are eating something - he wants what is on OUR plates!  He did pretty good though.  It was nice to see them, as usual.  On the way home we went through Dallas City so Chase could see Grandma for a minute.

Saturday Morning Snuggles

Last Saturday morning I couldn't sleep anymore so I got up and did some chores and so on.  I went over to Mom's for a while, and when I came back this is how I found my guys.  Awwww!!!  Love them!  : )

Reception

We were invited to Carol and Mark's wedding reception.  It was a nice outdoor celebration.  Everything was beautiful!

Simple Entertainment

We got a box of diapers in the mail today.  I emptied the diapers out and took them to his room and left he box in the living room floor.  This box has turned out to be the entertainment of the morning!  He thinks its pretty fun!

Never Before...

Yesterday I left Chase with Mom in the morning so I could go grocery shopping.  She had Jeremy's kids and Owen too, so he didn't get much of a nap.  He isn't used to all the noise since it is just him and I at home all day - so he doesn't sleep much around it all.  After I picked him up and came home he chugged a bottle and then was playing with some toys on the floor.  I called Amanda to chat for a while and it got quiet all of a sudden and I looked down and Chase had passed out on the floor!  He didn't cry or anything...just straight up passed out.  He is a rock-a-bye baby and always has to be put to sleep..so this is VERY unusual for him.  It made me feel bad...but I figured he must've just been stinkin' tired!  I moved him to his bed and after napping for 3 hours I finally had to wake him up so he would sleep that night.  I love him!

New Jams

These are 1 of the 2 new pair of jammies we got Chase.  These are my absolute favorite!  They are just so cute on him.  Incase you can't tell...they have little monsters all over them and the shirt says "monster hugs".  Awww!!!  I love how they hug his tiny little body.
Crashed in Daddy's arms.  He still holds his hands ever so sweetly...cute right?!

Sweetie Pie

We busted Chase playing in the curtains last night and then we turned it into a game.  Every time we would ask where Chase was he would pull it aside and pop his little smile out to see us!  He has such a great little personality already.  : )
I truly cherish every little bedtime snuggle I get.  I know these years are going to fly by and I won't always have a sweet baby snuggle at night.  I can really make myself sad if I dwell on it too much.  Instead I have been trying to just enjoy it while it lasts.  It really doesn't get any better than this!
