Christmas Day 2015

Milo woke up first - and then we woke up big brother and Daddy.  On a normal morning Chase is slow to wake up and doesn't get out of bed very fast - but all I had to say was "Chasey, Santa came!" and his eyed popped wide open and he sat right up and was excited.  : )  We had the tree on and glowing around the presents.  Cozy!
We're excited!!!

Their reactions and excitement was the sweetest and best ever.  I sat back and was enjoying it so much that I didn't get a video of it - but I will just have to be content with having it in my heart.  I hope I will always remember this one.  It was so fun!  What I have always dreamed of.  They make it all worth it!
We almost forgot our stockings for the 2nd year in a row.
Digging in!
The. Most. Precious. Smile. Ever!!  He was glowing!

We were up early enough that we each had plenty of time to sit and play with the boys and enjoy them.
Big stuff!  They each got kids kindles and headphones to be used at MOM AND DADS discretion.
We had simple breakfast of cinnamon roll muffins and little smokies.

New lap trays with all kinds of fun stuff in them.  These were a hit too!  Our boys will sit and play with sticker books for a good long time and not get bored.

I took time to type this that morning so I wouldn't forget my feelings...
Christmas morning - not sure how I am feeling.  I am very sentimental today so far.  Can't help but shed some tears.  The boys reactions to Santa this morning was the best yet.  The magic and pure belief in their eyes as they stood at the gate in the hallway and saw the presents surrounding our glowing tree.  When Chase saw the big bite out of the cookie his eyes just lit up...and the note Santa left him about his legos put a smile on his face that told me he was proud of himself.  Milo was full of enthusiasm and excitement with everything he said.  This is my last Christmas with just my baby boys - and while I know by next Christmas I will already not remember life before having the baby - I can't help but feel emotional about it too.  Life goes by so fast.  After breakfast I was alone at the table with the boys and I said "Merry Christmas baby boys" and Chase looked right at me and sweetly said "Merry Christmas to you too". : )  My heart is full.  All these sweet sweet moments/memories being made are weighing heavily on this hormonal Mama!
Off to see the Boyers!  Haha - no, Milo really can't take a serious picture.  : )  He's awesome like that!
The Mitchell's
Amy put this together for Mom for Christmas.  6 generations.  Pretty neat!

Great Aunt Debbie always gets Amy's girls a little something.
Marlia was looking SOOO cute!
Getting more good out of the nativity.

I told him he was cute.  ; )
We did things a little different this year and just had soup, sandwiches, and desserts.  It was seriously PERFECT though!  We should do it every year.  Made it a lot less stressful and we all have so many heavy meals through the holidays that one lighter meal didn't hurt any of us.
The Boyer Christmas was smaller than ever.  Just not the same without Grandma.  I was glad to get to see those that we did, though.
Josh walked up and squeezed Amy's shoulders - and apparently she has the same sore spots that I do because he said he started doing what he does to mine and she just melted.  Haha - I told him that's how he'll have to "pay" her for letting us use her pool this summer.  Josh really is good at massaging.  I am a lucky lady!
Harley got a new power wheel for Christmas and brought it with him to Grandma's.  Here they are hauling wood for the fire Dad had going.  How freaking cute is that?!

Just before leaving we quietly shared our baby news with Amy and Carla.  I wanted to tell more - but since we hadn't told Josh's family yet we thought we better wait.
Next up we were off to Ruth's to have our Christmas with them.  Funny faces with my biggy boy!

Bobbi had been there all day helping Ruth make a feast for us.  We had a nice traditional Christmas meal - WITHOUT a single vegetable.  Haha.  Before we ate, Josh loudly said "Ok everyone, Christmas announcement.." and then his Mom blurted out "you're pregnant!"...and so he just said Yes.  I REALLY wanted to hear what he was going to say.  : (  Kind of sucked she burst our bubble...but, oh well.  Their reactions weren't as warm and welcoming as everyone elses either..but, whatever.
This was a first.  Haha. But it worked!  There were a lot more people there than we thought there was going to be - so all the tables were full.
Love birdies

Cousins
The boys LOVE playing with Cammie.

I love this picture!  Haha.  They were having a blast!

The rest of the extended family left before we started presents - but Bobbi stayed and joined us.  Wish we would have known.  We would have loved to get her a little something.
Even though it was already a late night at Ruth's - Chase still convinced his awesome Daddy to build his new legos with him before bed.  : )

This Christmas was busy, as usual - but I was prepared enough and relaxed enough this year - that it didn't feel hectic.  AND...I got SUPER lucky and wasn't nauseous all day!  That was nice!  We are blessed with lots of loving family and even though things aren't how they USED to be on either side - they are still wonderful and we need to remember that.  Merry Christmas 2015!

Christmas Eve

We didn't have anywhere we HAD to be on Christmas Eve except for mass in the evening.  So, we had the day to ourselves.  And..it was great!  Chase had spotted the gingerbread guys she always decorates with (one that I made when I was younger).  After I told him I had made it - he had been begging me to make one with him.  So, I made that a fun little Christmas crafty for us to do on Christmas Eve.

They were easy peasy once we figured out what worked best to hold them together.  (note to self: it was hot glue if you ever go to do this again...)
Chase colored the "boots" black on his and gave him a pretty awesome face! ; )  The "pocket" for his candy cane was ALL his idea too!  I love how it turned out!  Milo chose curly "hair" for his and told me where he wanted everything.  Now we can pull these out next year and smile.  : )
I also surprised them with a new book!  "The Gingerbread Man" to go along with our gingerbread theme I had going on.  They loved it and caught right on..chiming in with "run, run as fast as you can you can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man" by the end of the book.  Love it!

By the way - seriously just ignore my face.  This is what I've been dealing with this entire pregnancy.  It's painful.  It's ugly.  It's awful.  ..and no matter what I do about it - it's still there.
Next up - COOKIES FOR SANTA!!  I bought a cheater cookie mix for shortbread cookies.  We dipped our glass in red sugar to make them extra pretty.
Easy for me - and they had fun with it..so, win win!  Chases arm around me makes me feel warm and fuzzy!
All cleaned up and ready for church!  Chase being a sweetheart with his arm around his brother...Milo being his normal goofball self.  : )  Those are my sweeties and I love them so...even though they were seriously awful at church.  Like, the worst ever.  Luckily we sat in the very back...but, we still didn't get much out of it.  Hopefully next year will go better...  At least they looked cute. ; )
I told Josh to take a selfie with me before going into church...and this is what he did!  Freaking DORK!  Haha.  I seriously love him for making me laugh!
: )
After mass we had tacos and got geared up for bed time.  We were excited to get to sleep so Santa could come!!

I asked Chase if we should move Daddy's chair so Santa would have more room for presents.  He said yes and pointed clear across the room to where he thought we should put it.  I said do you think there will be THAT many presents?!  He said "yes, because he has a big sleigh".  : )  I love his logic!
Traditions!  The Night Before Christmas...
Next year Daddy's lap will be REALLY full!!
We got really lucky again this year and had no problems getting them to sleep.  Sleepy sweethearts!
Chase wanted to leave out his legos for Santa to see.  Then he went on to say that he likes Santa..he's a nice guy.  : )  So "Santa" wrote him a note to let him know he saw them!

Precious moments!!!
Santa came!
We opened our stockings before going to bed ourselves, as usual.  This year was extremely low key and neither one of us had any surprises.  But, we were both totally okay with it.  We'll focus on us again when our kids are grown..until then we'd rather spend the money and thought on them.  Aside from feeling nauseous, this Christmas Eve was top notch.  Life is fun!
