My Tuesday
Yesterday was my day to stay home and get stuff done. I had a huge amount of laundry to do and (naturally) my dryer had to break down! Well - it didn't really "break down", but the turn knob broke and I had to turn it with a pair of plyers all day. Annoying! It'll be October 4th or 5th before they can come fix it! I still mananged to get my laundry all done, my floors swept and mopped, vacuuming (which Chase hates - he thinks its a noisy monster or something...haha) done and changed 5 poopy diapers. Little guy had a tummy ache all day I'm pretty sure. This should be titled "pointless post".....Oh well.
Big Stuff
He will push his truck around and then stop, pick it up and wait for an applause. He is super proud of himself - he knows how big he is!! He is yet to take any steps..but he is finger walking holding on to just 1 finger now.
I was digging in the freezer and Chase crawled over and found his chew toy in there. He grabbed it and immediately started chewing on it. It was funny to watch him with it. He would hold on to it and chew for a minute and then throw it down and flap his hands around because they were cold. Too fun!

Special Moments
I went out to Grandma and Granddad Boyer's with Mom on Monday to have coffee and visit a while. Chase was so cute and sat on Grandma's lap for probably a good 10 minutes. In the 2nd picture she is whispering "I love you" in his ear. I think Grandma enjoyed her little snuggle she got with him - and Mom and I enjoyed watching it!
Awesome Weekend
Saturday morning started out with me unloading our shopping bags from Friday night. We had went to Target and bought Chase a shirt to wear for his birthday pictures. It was on my receipt but NOT in my bag. So...I called and they had it there by the register. We ended up going to Burlington AGAIN on Saturday. This time we took Chase along. We did a little shopping while we were in town. Josh spoils Chase like crazy and will carry him. I tell him that just makes it harder for me when he's not with me, but oh well - it's cute!
When we got home Josh put new brakes on my car. They were super squeaky and embarrassing. After that he got busy and put up the rest of the shutters. While he did that I got my fall stuff out. This is the finished product! I think it definitely looks improved. : )
Saturday evening Coulter's football game was on TV. We watched that off and on throughout the evening. It was kind of cool getting to see him and hear his name all the time. I even saw Uncle Jeff in the stands!
I relaxed and baked through the evening too. I made cupcakes and birthday cake for Cullen's birthday. Colista had to work all weekend so I offered to do it. I wanted to practice before doing Chase's cake in a few weeks anyways. It didn't turn out perfect, but it was cute.
My guys were still snoozing good on Sunday morning when we had to get up to go to church. Chase was a wiggly worm at church. I can't imagine how I will handle 2 kids (someday) on my own at church if Josh is called out. I will just have to make sure I always go with Mom. Haha.
After mass on Sunday morning we went over to The Fort Colony in Ft. Madison and had breakfast. We like their breakfast and used to go there all the time. It was yummy and Chase was a little flirt with everyone there.
Our afternoon consisted of playtime and rest time. We just vegged and relaxed.
Sunday evening Cullen's birthday party was at Mom and Dad's. He turned 3! After Tristan and Colista blew out the candles he said "oh no". Haha..it was cute! He is starting to talk A LOT now.
Chase crawled around the yard a while until it started to get dark and we went home. Josh and I both agreed when we laid our heads down Sunday night that it was an awesome weekend. Got some stuff done, got to relax a little, had some family time, play time, and some alone time. Yep, perfect!
Nacho Night
Our shutters came in on Friday, so Josh and I went to Burlington Friday night to pick them up. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and had nachos too. We think they have the best nachos - EVER! Chase hung out with Ruth while we went out. They were passed out on the couch together when we went to pick him up.
Show Off
Chase showed off to Grandma and Aunt Taylor the other night that he can stand without holding on to anything. They tried to get him to take a step, but he still won't. I'm okay with that - he can take as long as he wants!
They're best buds - I love them!

Cute Little Miss
We ran to Shopko the other day and found this awesome head band for Eden while we were there. Isn't she adorable?!?! I went to take her picture again when she was awake and dropped my camera and broke it. So...therefore no picture with her awake. I was at Walmart within hours to find me a new camera. I can NOT go without one. Still haven't found one that I like though...ugh.

You Can Do That?!
I stuck Chase in his high chair with a snack so I could take a shower. I peeked out at him during my shower and he was totally munching in his sleep. Did you even know you could eat and sleep at the same time?!! Haha! It was hilarious! I caught the very end of it here when he was doing more sleeping than eating - you can get the idea anyways.
Spontenaity
Mom was off on Monday this week. We weren't planning on doing anything. I had intentions of staying home and catching up on laundry. We were on our morning walk and I was telling her about starting our new routine with Chase and how he kept chewing on his crib and leaving teeth marks. Then I told her about these cool teething guards they sell for cribs and I showed her one online. We decided she could handle that and so we up and went to Hobby Lobby to get some fabric and ribbon for her to make one. It will be cute when it's done - picture to follow!
I don't know if it was the new routine or the random trip to Burlington - but Chase seemed to be a zombie all day on Monday. All he wanted to do was snooze. Isn't he sweet?!

New Routine
This week we are attempting to start a new routine with Chase. He has been a rock-a-bye baby since birth..but it is getting harder now because he doesn't know how to sleep without us. Therefore, if he isn't in our bed or in our arms he doesn't sleep much. I definitely didn't have intentions of it being this way - it just sort of happened. So - we are trying to transition him into putting himself to sleep in his own bed. So far it isn't going so good. We will keep pushing on though. Part of me is sad because it feels like he is "growing up", but I know it will be better for all of us in the end - including him. I love my little Chasey Bug!
Grandma's Birthday
Mom and Dad were going to take Grandma out for her birthday - but her request was for us to get together and have a meal at their house instead. Dad make a pork loin and mom put together some awesome sides and dessert and we had a little party. She seemed to really enjoy it - and so did we!
Walking Everywhere
No - he isn't quite walking on his own yet. He is using his walker to go all over the place now, though! He is getting really good balance. He can stand up without holding on to anything and is getting brave - so it won't be long!
A fun new thing he does is point his finger. He sticks out just his pointer finger and points at everything. His favorite thing to do is stick it in his nose! Somehow it is still adorable. : ) He is saying new sounds and mimics me more and more everyday too. My little sponge is absorbing so much!

Great Mood at Grandma's
Saturday we went to church in Dallas City and then to have dinner at Grandma's. Chase had a big puke on Daddy at church and was in an awesome mood the rest of the night! Haha! Taylor took this picture of his and I LOVE it! If you look close you can see his one little tooth. : ) He has been making faces similar to this a lot lately - he raises his eyebrows and smiles real big. It is just too fun and adorable!
He is so much fun you don't even know...
He was pretty tuckered out by the time we were getting ready to leave. He said down and chillaxed with Aunt Taylor (for a few minutes, until he realized he was getting sleepy and remembered he had to fight it).

Girl Date
Vicky was back in town - so Amanda and I got together with her for dinner Friday night. We went to Ft. Madison and had us some Mexican! It was deee-lish! (as always) We weren't out long, but it was a good catch up over some good grub.

Silly Boy
I look over at Chase playing this morning and watched him crawl right IN to his toy basket! He sat there and played for quite a while. Oh the things that make me smile... : )
Fun Times
Yesterday Mom, Chase & I, and Colista & her 2 youngest all met at 3 mile curve to go to Burlington for a bit. While we waited Chase "helped" me drive. When Grandma pulled up next to us he made such a cute expression. We didn't capture it, but this one is still cute. He thought it was pretty awesome to be up front.
We went to Hobby Lobby, Kohls, and Carlos O' Kelly's for lunch. I had a really good time.
When we got back I took Chase to hang with Aunt Taylor for a bit while I went over to Amy's to get my hair cut. I got some layers put in and I love it! It put me in an awesome mood - I love relaxing and getting my hair done!

Belly Laugh
Chase has started with this incredibly awesome belly laugh. He will get going sometimes and not stop and we love it! It brightens your mood no matter what. The best part is that it usually comes out of no where. Some things just must tickle him and he thinks its necessary to laugh. Haha! His other trick (SO big) is in this video too. He has many tricks and sounds these days - so fun!
A Few Days Late
For Josh's birthday gift Mom and I went halfsies on a bag for him. It is a bag made especially for railroaders. It is extremely heavy duty and nice. This is what he will cart around with him on every trip he makes. It came on Monday so I went ahead and wrapped it up so he could open it (even though he knew what it was).
Josh's Bday (Again!)
Mom had dinner Sunday evening for Josh's birthday. She made his favorite - apple pie - for dessert. He just LOVES it when I make his take pictures all the time - can you tell?!
Roofing Party
We started bright and early Saturday morning with our roofing project. Owen came with Tyson to "help". It was really cute because they both crawled out of the truck with boots on and coffee cups in hand. Tysons boots were work boots and Owens were rain boots...and Tyson's cup contained coffee and Owen's was hot chocolate - BUT it was adorable. He is such a little chip!
The guys were hard at ripping it off mid-morning when I left with Ruth and Taylor to go to the rodeo parade.
Chase tried cotton candy for the first time - which he loved, of course! He was pretty sober and just soaking everything up other than that.
When we got back I got lunch for the crew. They got right back to it, though!
The guys managed to get the entire roof torn off and back on in one day! The only thing left to do Sunday was the ridge cap.
Chase was very curious about the whole thing. He wouldn't sleep for anything! He had some good play with his cousins, though.
When they got done on Sunday we buzzed to Burlington and bought new exterior porch lights and shutters for our house to top off the look. Josh only measured the kitchen window and assumed they were all the same size - and they aren't. SOOO....we had to order the right size. He got the big window in the front put on and then realized when he got to the other ones that he had the wrong size. In the mean time our house looks silly with only one set of shutters on the front. I will take a picture after it is all done.
