Girl Night

Last night Amanda and I went to Burlington and had some much needed girl time.  We went to Hobby Lobby and I got some things to start working on a project for Chase's birthday party.  I am SO excited they had what I wanted and am getting really excited about planning his FIRST birthday!  : )  I realized at Eden's party on Saturday that his birthday is in only 6 weeks!  I immediately started planning...haha.

We also went to the mall to Maurices so I could get a new shirt for Grape Fest.  I have worn the SAME things all summer - so I wanted something fresh to wear so I didn't feel like a fuddy duddy.

We did a drive by of her new boyfriends house so I could see where he lives and ended up stopping in for a minute to say hi.  I hadn't met him before but have heard a lot about him.  He seems very nice - I approve!

Amanda didn't buy anything new to wear last night because I told her I have a basement full of clothes that would fit her.  She came over this morning and we went through my tote of "Trisha's skinny clothes".  We played dress up and they totally fit her!  She looks awesome and I am so happy for her and her new little body.

Did I mention I love having her around??

First tooth

Chase cut his first tooth on Sunday!!!  Yay!  Our boy is getting so big!  Unfortunately...our poor little guy has had it rough though.  He was really cranky through it all and had fevers up to 104 through the night.  We were up giving him cool baths and everything we could to keep him cool.  We thought it was just the tooth - but I called the doctor just incase.  They had me bring him in because a fever that high isn't normal for teeth.  Turns out on top of cutting teeth he has a red sore throat and an ear infection.  : (  Josh and I have felt so bad for him.  We have had some sleepless nights and lots of cuddling, but he is finally seeming a little better today, thank God!

Boy Birthdays

Tyson and Vanessa had Owen and Tristin's birthday parties together again this year.  They had a picnic at the state park.  Tristin turns twelve and Owen turned 5 this year.  I took probably 10 or more pictures but got home and only had these 2 on my camera.  Ugh!  Stupid camera!  It has definitely been birthday season in the Kelley family!

Birthday Girl

Miss Eden Rose (the cupcake princess) turned ONE on Saturday!  We celebrated with a party at Jeremy and Colista's.  The baby doll and cradle were from Grandma Kelley.  She was cute to watch with the cake.  She just does everything so girly.  It's strange to see after watching boys for so long.  Happy 1st Birthday!

Sweet Music

Chase plays me some pretty awesome songs all day.  I love it!

Date Night

Friday night we took Chase to Grandma's for a bit so we could go out to supper and have some time to ourselves.  We went to Hamilton and had Mexican and ended up bumping into Emilee and Brent and their 2 cuties.  I got to hold the baby again.  : )  It was a nice unexpected visit with them.

Freezer Food

Friday I was feeling rather ambitious.  I had groceries to work with, time to do and the ambition to do it - so I made some freezer meals.  I did stuffed peppers and a loaded lasagna.  I love having food in the freezer to just pull out and bake.  I wish I had a food saver thingy.  Possibly should go on my Christmas list.

Friends

Kayla stopped by Friday morning and hung out for a bit.  Maci and Chase played good together.  They were funny though - because when one of them cried the other would start crying too.  Maci is a girly little thing and was rather emotional if Chase "picked" on her.  They are only 6 weeks apart so are pretty much doing all the same things right now.

Feeling Emotional

I was feeling super emotional towards the end of last week.  That time of the month hit me hard this time and I was a wreck.  I made Josh take a picture of Chase and I bonding.  I was feeling sad because I know it won't always be like this (among anything else imaginable that could make me sad).  A good cry later - I was good to go.  Sometimes you just have to let it out!

Adventure = New Toy

On Thursday Mom and I took Chase, Eden and Cullen with us and went grocery shopping.  We went to Macomb and made 3 stops.  She couldn't find the right birthday present for Tristin there, so while the kiddos napped we drove down to Quincy to try and find it.  Still no luck there.  The kids went on quite the adventure that day but all did really well.  Mom and I were exhausted after getting them in and out of the car a million time though!  Chase ended up with a fun new little people safari toy from Grandma so he was a happy camper.  : )

Sleep Routine

Chase's sleep routine has been a mess lately.  He is getting to where he really likes sleeping with us.  When he wakes up we bring him to our bed so I can nurse him.  I end up falling asleep feeding him and then we are all in a zombie state and he ends up staying there.  Sometimes its not so bad, but other times he flops all over the place and its awful.  I'm trying to focus on putting him back in his bed - it's just really hard when you are half asleep in the middle of the night to even think straight.

Last Time "Visiting"

Amanda (with her tiny little body - doesn't she look good?!) came and visited Chase and I on Tuesday afternoon.  This was the last time that she was coming to see us as a visitor to Nauvoo.  As of Friday she is back in town!!  Wahoo!  (I'm not excited at all)  haha.

Random Fun

One weeknight this past week we somehow managed to be done with supper AND dishes by 7:00.  That never happens!  I randomly said we should go to the park and swing - so we did.  Chase LOVED it!  He was a giggly fool the entire time!

Jeremy's Birthday Dinner

Sunday evening Mom had dinner for Jeremy's birthday.  Tristan got to go to a baseball game this year instead of having a party, so we celebrated for him too.  Mom made homemade peach pie and we had vanilla bean ice cream with it.  It was super duper!  Peach pie is my all time favorite pie - YUM!

Puttering Outside

We spent last Sunday doing things outside and soaking up some sun.  Chase was an angel baby and loved every minute of it.  We even pulled the high chair out on the deck for lunch.  It was beautiful out!

Farmers Market

Last Saturday morning Mom and I loaded up the kids and went over to Keokuk to the farmer's market.  We got us some good fresh veggies.  Asher and Liam came over to my house and had lunch and played a while after we got back.  They thought eating at the bar was awesome - the simple things!  : ) It has been great having awesome fresh meals all week.

So Proud!

He kept climbing in his seat like this and thought he was hot stuff - very proud of himself.  EVERY time he would end up tipping forward and falling on his nose.  He didn't think it was so fun then.  Haha!  Poor little guy will figure it out eventually.

Yesterday

Liam had to get a filling at the dentist yesterday morning and Mom had a doctors appointment in Ft. Madison all at the same time.  I went along and took Liam to the dentist while Mom was at her appointment.  Liam was in a GREAT mood until he got in the chair at the dentist.  After that he was a big quiet and grouchy for a while.  He came around though.

After the appointments we went to Burlington to buy a baby shower present for Josh and Angie's baby.  Mom, Carla, Amy and I are all going in on one.  We got some really nice things - I'm super excited and hope they like it all!

We also went to the mall to get my ring checked/cleaned.  We had lunch at Diamond Dave's (Liam was pretty happy that his root beer was in an awesome glass bottle).  Mom also got Eden's birthday present while we were there.

We got a few groceries and some Culver's ice cream (which actually didn't make me sick this time - Wahoo!) and headed back.  I had Mom drop Chase and I off at Ruth's in Dallas City.  We were going there for dinner and that way they got to see Chase longer.  She made fried chicked, mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn on the cob.  It was SUPER!

Wasn't home at all but had an awesome day!

Cutie

Chase laid like this in the stroller for most of my walk the other day.  It was quite adorable!
Chase was crawling around the floor.  Next thing I know he laid his head down on the boppy and stared at the TV for a minute and passed out!  (Butt in the air and all)

When he wants to, he will sit and play by himself so good!  He is wired like a boy for sure.  He goes for the trucks and tractors and naturally knew how to push them around and what sound to make.

Dancing Fool

Chase is absolutely hilarious and will start dancing every time he hears music!  This is Amy getting him to boogy with her.  : )  I love my little guy and his awesome personality!

Last Day of Summer

Monday was the last day of summer for Owen and Tristin.  They started school on Tuesday.  Owen is in Kindergarten and Tristin is in 6th grade.  Owen didn't want to spend his last summer day at Sylvia's - so he came to hang out with me.  I decided to make it fun for them and take them over to Amy's and swim.  We spent most of the afternoon there.  Dalton and Alex joined in and played with them too.  Chase wasn't much for swimming that day (I think the water was too cold), but he was a really good boy hanging out with Amy and I on the patio!

The Big Move

After the picnic on Sunday it was time to kick some butt!  We sent Chase to Grandma Mitchell's so we would be able to help more.  We finished packing their old house, moved the rest of the stuff, and unpacked at the rental house all in one afternoon.  We were sure there were beds made, bathroom stuff unpacked, clothes accessible, and food in the kitchen so they could sleep Sunday night and get up Monday morning and ready for work.  They still had quite a bit to get done before Thursday (their final closing day), but we made a HUGE chunk in the progress.  They have been SOO busy and just haven't had enough time for it all.  I am grateful that Josh and I have been able to help them out a little bit.  Maybe someday soon they will get for relax for a while and enjoy this awesome sunset at their rental house!

Boyer Reunion

The Boyer reunion is the 2nd Sunday of August every year.  We have a big pot luck lunch and hang out for a bit.  This year I took over the secretary position.  Colista did it for a few years, but decided she didn't want it anymore.  I'm excited about it though - looking forward to putting my own spin on things!

Fat Lip #2

I'm still not quite sure how he did it - but Chase pulled one of our bar stools over on top of him.  He busted his lip open for the 2nd time.  This time we let him such a popsicle for a bit.  Once his lip got numb he pretty much loved that!

Asher's Birthday

Jeremy and Colista took their older boys and Owen to Huck's Harbor at Fun City for Asher's birthday.  Josh and I went along too.  We hadn't ever been there before, and that place is CRAZY!  It would be entirely too easy for someone to snatch a kid there.  It was fun though - once the sun came out.
Josh and I in the lazy river.
Owen laying next to Josh trying to talk him into something...haha.
Owen and I in the lazy river.
Josh and Owen on the slide.  He talked him into it!  As soon as they got off of it the first time, Owen said "I wanna go again!"
Colista and Tristan going down the slide of death.  Colista says it gives you a killer wedgie.
Josh and Tristan going down the scary slide.  You are supposed to cross your legs - wonder how that felt for Tristan?? Haha!
Cedric and Olivia.  Jon and Nicky brought their kids for a bit too.
Vanessa came up after a while too.
Tristan took Asher in the lazy river with him for a bit - good big brother!

After the water park we went to Happy Joe's for pizza and ice cream.  Mom, Dad, Tyson, Eden and Chase met us there.  Happy 5th birthday to Asher!
